GREAT informatoin!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Using the glycemic index for making choices about what to eat has been a tremendous help. This way of eating is not difficult and made a huge difference in my health. I recommend it to everyone!

The New Glucose Revolution for Diabetes
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Being newly diagnosed as Type 2 Diabetic, this was the most helpful reference I found. I highly recommend it to all. It is also great if you are trying to lose weight using the Adkins or South Beach diet but having problems. This solves them all!

I agree with B Real
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I agree with "B Real". The brand names mentioned in the tables are very useful if you live in Australia. The authors also seem to think that aspartame and sucralose are harmless and stevia is bad. They should read "Sweet Deception" by Joseph Mercola and "Excitotoxins, The Taste That Kills" by Russell Blaylock.

Excellent infomation and easy to understand
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This book gives a whole new perspective on how to eat correctly to control blood sugar. Whether you are pre-diabetic (as I am), gestational diabetic, type I diabetic, or type II diabetic (as hubby is)...the information is in here for the taking! Being a Cajun, I don't care much for most of the recipes in here, but the information is worth its weight in gold...you won't regret getting this book and you will use it for life. If you get only one book on diabetes, get this one!

Very informative book
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I just found out I was prediabetic and ordered this book. I couldn't have asked for a more informative and helpful book. It answered all my questions, and I would highly recommend this to everyone with questions about prediabetes and diabetes. It fully explains the glycemic index with examples.

Diabetes - without the industry message
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
There are too many sources on diabetes that accept the American diet as a given, and just try to get you to tweak it at the edges. Too many organizations like the ADA, that want members dues, sell their products to make money, and take funds from the food industry that is busy destroying Americans' health. Too many "experts" who won't go the extra mile to change our eating habits.

These Aussies who wrote this book are for real. Sure, they accept that diabetics, like all of use, eat some stuff that is not great. But they go the extra mile, and make sure that vegetarian and vegan eating are part of the discussion. It's not just about portions; it's about the right stuff, in proportion. And they make the science of their wisdom very accessible.

It is a must-read for diabetics, and a must-read for all Americans slowly being poisoned by a diet of mammoth hamburgers, greasy fries, and globs of ice cream.

Save your money.
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Total waste of cash.

Was recommended by some diabetes blog or column.

What were they thinking? Answer: Not much.

Glycemic Index listed mostly prepackaged foods THAT I NEVER HEARD OF and the first 95% of book is rehashed drivel.

What we need is an updated Glycemic Index with values of 'real food' and a healthy dose of restaurant, and prepackaged foods.

Dr Atkins... we miss you.
